Promise Media is a Richmond Virginia online publishing company that specializes in online business tips, niche websites and related books.

Scott S. Bateman

The company was founded in 2007 by Scott S. Bateman, a professional journalist and online media expert. He has more than 30 years of experience as an editor, marketing expert and online general manager. Bateman has been involved in online publishing since the existence of dialup bulletin boards in the 1980s.

He spent 21 years of his career at Cox Enterprises and Media General. They are two of the largest media companies in the U.S.

Bateman launched the first public website for Cox Enterprises in 1995. He led the company’s online operations at a Seattle TV station, Dayton newspaper and TV station, and Virginia Beach cable operation.

He left Cox for Media General in 2002. At Media General, he was responsible for all of that company’s 30 websites in Virginia, a staff of nearly 50 people and a highly profitable operation.

He left Media General in 2007 to fulfill a longtime goal of launching his own online publishing and consulting business. Among other projects, he is the author of “Online Marketing for Small Business“.

Promise Media Services

Bateman publishes highly targeted guides about Caribbean cruise vacations and other topics. He uses them as testing platforms for search engine optimization, site promotional tactics and useful business tips for clients.

His consulting and project management expertise has covered all major functions of online general management including content, finance, marketing, advertising, and strategic planning.

Promise Media has maintained multi-year consulting agreements with more than a dozen clients in all areas of online business development.

In his spare time, he uses a cross platform strategy to convert his website content into ebooks and paperback books. In addition to “Online Marketing for Small Business”, he also has published the book “Caribbean Cruises for 1st Timers” using content from his Caribeez.com Caribbean travel guide.
